As an Industrial Design Manager, it is my job to think through challenges, present creative solutions, and support a team in developing these same skills. By keying in on my user’s needs, focusing on functionality, and building in moments of delight and discovery, I can create products that help expand peoples relationships with our world.

I am an Industrial Design Manager in Denver Colorado, specialized in product, print, color, materials and finishes. I started off my ID career in furniture design and homegoods, and after spending five years designing and building custom furniture, I shifted my focus toward technical gear in the outdoor industry. Being an Industrial Designer has given me an outlet for innovation and creative expression. I love concepting and creating functional designs in a variety of hard and soft mediums, making me a very well rounded and mutifaceted designer.
In my most recent role, I had the opportunity to design for several major outdoor brands such as Kelty, Ultimate Direction and Sierra Designs. I have designed products in multiple categories including: Running vests, technical hiking packs, tents, sleeping bags, daypacks, travel packs, PFD’s, furniture, apparel and accessories. I have a proven track record of designing award-winning, human-centric products that are thoughtful, functional, and innovative.
Over the past 9 years, I have led the annual trend analysis of product, color and graphics and have developed palettes and color strategies for all of our major brands, helping grow the business while gaining incredible feedback from major retailers.
Above all, I love creating and collaborating on all types of projects and I’m confident that my passion, perspective and drive brings great value to any team.
Sep. 2023- 2014
In my time with Exxel Outdoors, I have grown my career from an associate-level designer to the Senior Product Designer at Kelty and later to the Industrial Design Manager over all brands. My extended experience has given me a wide breadth of both brand and product knowledge, with a specialized understanding of packs, sleeping bags, tents, furniture, accessories and CMF strategies. I have an intimate understanding of diverse manufacturing capabilities, development timelines, retail channels, market positioning, and consumer behaviors which are all key components of thoughtful product design. As the Design Manager, I created project trackers and workload estimation tools in order to improve processes and manage workflow within the ID team. This helped prioritize deliverables among hundreds of long and short term projects. Above all, I enjoyed leading large cross-functional brainstorming sessions to expand on our teams creative concepts. I had the opportunity to mentor Junior Designers to develop their skill-sets by providing clear and constructive feedback on projects in a way that raised the bar for critical and creative thought within the company. Additionally, I maintained the responsibilities of a Senior Product and CMF Designer in charge of strategizing effective color stories and developing brand palettes, based on research and forecasting, in order to ensure consistency with brand identity and consumer needs.
